SUSAN FOSTER
Governor ex-officio: Since September 2022
Responsibilities: RE, Church School Distinctiveness, SIAMs
Panels: Pay, HT Appraisal, Staffing Appeals
On my licensing 2022 as the Vicar of Warminster and Rector of the River Were Benefice of Churches, I was invited to be part of the governing body of the Minster School and what a joy it is to be part of this wonderful school. I love being part of the Minster school family, both as Chairman of the governing body and helping to shape the vision and secure the future of the school. Whether through regular meetings, weekly assemblies, or as the governor responsible for RE, Church School Distinctiveness and SIAM’s, getting to know children, parents, and staff is my true delight.
I live just round the corner from the school in the Rectory and one of my responsibilities is for the Minster Church and continuing a close connection with the Minster School, as well as getting involved in the wider Warminster community to help build unity, hope and joy. Before getting ordained ten years ago, I was first a psychiatric nurse, then a hotelier, and, for 25 years, a welfare officer working with military personnel and their families. I undertook my formational training for ministry at the College of the Resurrection, alongside the Monks, at Mirfield in Yorkshire.
I enjoy art both as a practitioner, teacher, and prolific gallery visitor – the creative arts are, for me, as essential as oxygen. In recent years I have taken to Icon writing. and I find praying with and, the creative process of writing icons, help lift me out of the ordinary.
